To convince myself about the usefulness of the OSP I asked is why the anti graft institutions like the police, BNI, EOCO, FIA, etc are unable to achieve success in the fight against corruption. The answer to me is that the desire, alacrity and drive from the highest office(s) in the land to fight the canker are non existent. If they are, we would have been palpably been seeing evidence of success. Any additional complementary office would have joined in produci success. Therefore, to me the setting up of the office of OSP is a complete waste as we know from the very beginning, without even with the foretelling of any prophet that it will be a failure.

In such situations, if you couldn’t defend yourself well, you risked being wrongly implicated.
Even small tokens of appreciation—like receiving 200 cedis from someone you work for—could be interpreted by the OSP as abusing your office for personal gain.

We do things in Ghana like we are dumb. So called lawyers everywhere speaking big english but everything is basaaa . In any case the issue here is not about scrapping it -it is about right to prosecute. However the truth of the matter is that ghana is very polarised and for me the word independense is moot-every one is politicised. Stealing at high level in ghana is rife - if your party is doing it , it is ok-if your non party is doing it then it is the other way round. For me the constitution should be changed so the attorney general is scrapped and replaced with OSP-But the osp should be voted in.

Whatever the authorities decide to eventually do, they should not dare dream of handing corruption cases to the AGs office.
