Miracles Aboagye is an aide to former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia
Dennis Edward Aboagye, Aide to former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has launched a sharp critique of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), accusing it of misleading Ghanaians on the country’s financial sector and current economic conditions.
Speaking in an interview on GHOne TV on April 21, 2026, Aboagye argued that if the NDC had not won the 2024 Election, many Ghanaians would have accepted claims that the previous NPP administration was responsible for the collapse of banks.
“If the NDC had not won the 2024 Election, we would still be here believing that the NPP government actually collapsed banks in Ghana,” he said.

He contended that the financial sector challenges predated the NPP’s tenure, alleging that the NDC had earlier “created the mess” by injecting large sums of public funds into struggling banks without resolving underlying issues.
According to him, the opposition at the time successfully “spun” the narrative and shifted blame onto the NPP, a strategy he described as deliberate propaganda.
Aboagye further accused the current government of carrying that same approach into office, describing it as “the most deceptive government” in the country’s history.
Beyond the banking sector, he painted a bleak picture of the current economic situation, claiming widespread hardship across multiple sectors.

He alleged delays in payments to teachers, nurses, and cocoa farmers, as well as persistent power supply challenges.
He also cited rising utility costs, pointing to increases in electricity and water tariffs, and claimed that transport fares and the overall cost of living have surged exponentially.
“The struggle is real and the betrayal is too glaring to ignore,” he said.
Aboagye further criticised tax and fuel-related charges, alleging that businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises, are facing higher tax burdens, while consumers continue to grapple with rising prices.
