While HE John Mahama has foresight, principles and moral compass, his stance, while highly commended yields benefit in an ideal world and countries where race, tribe and political party preference are not drivers for political decisions. Ghana is not an ideal country but a real world where tribal and political party preferences rule.

HE John Mahama and his ruling majority NDC exercise presumed democratic rule in Ghana, a real world far from an ideal world. NPP hold-overs are sabotuers, vile, unprincipled and unrepentent cowards who in 2017 upon assuming political power replaced anyone with management responsibilities prior to January 2017 to make room for NPP card-carrying members and foot-soldiers.

I know of many government workers with post graduate masters degrees who were let go of their public service director positions and placed on secondments. It's been 9+ years and they have not received their salary raises and promotions while the unqualified (classroom earned certification or work experience) NPP staff who came in to take over their positions now make twice as much and continue to derive perks even after the NPP lost in 2024.

HE John Mahama may have a legacy of goodwill governance but there are Ghanaians who have been punished and denied both pay raises, retirement compensation upgrades for 9+ years and counting for serving in any capacity in the years prior to 2017.

The issue cannot be all about how HE John Mahama is the father for all of Ghana but those who suffer because of him/NDC. Like the late J. J. Rawlings said about the NPP, the NDC underestimate the NPP at their own peril. HE John Mahama should ask to meet with former managers at YEA who remade the outfit into a better agency under Mr. Bechem after years of NPP claims of mismanagement against NDC administrators like Abuga Pele.

The NDC elite class cannot bury its head and punish folks who served under YEA administrstors prior to 2017 and have the moral compass to talk about treating NPP the same as all Ghanaians. Are the former YEA directors who were transferred on secondments and therefore lost all rewards not Ghanaians or are they okay to be sacrificed fir the good of wannabe aspirants of the NDC.

The Christian God we all worship can forgive but nothing goes unpunished under his watchful eyes of the things we do in his name.

The need to check this should not be at the mercy of a sitting president, as we are experiencing now. Instead, there should be measures ingrained in the constitution to check it legally. If we don't check it from the root ourselves through the constitution, we should not expect any angel or deity to come and do it for us. The blackman claims to be a human being and must act as such.
