Kwesi Pratt Jnr is the Managing Editor of Insight Newspaper
The Managing Editor of the Insight Newspapaer, Kwesi Pratt Jnr, has strongly urged President John Dramani Mahama to immediately reshuffle his government.
He insisted that some appointees should be removed for allegedly prioritising personal political ambitions over national duties.
Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on May 6, 2026, Pratt said the conduct of certain officials was undermining governance and their core mandate.
“He should have sacked them long ago. What is he waiting for? Sack them. Please sack them,” he stressed.

Pratt argued that some appointees appear more focused on positioning themselves for future presidential ambitions than delivering on their current responsibilities, describing such behaviour as ‘wasting the nation’s time.’
He questioned their suitability for high office, adding that individuals who, in his view, lack basic communication competence were still harbouring leadership ambitions, which he described as ‘shameful’ and ‘embarrassing.’
He stressed that the president must act decisively, insisting that a major reshuffle was necessary to remove what he called ‘dead wood’ and restore efficiency in government.
