For the NPP to go courting Alan will amount to ego-worshipping, the worse that can happen to the party. What % votes did Alan win when he formed his own party? Less than 1%, significantly below the margin of error for the elections. So, what has he got to bring? Voters? His followers would not be sufficient to make a dent in the electoral math.

Alan is openly flirting with the NDC, obviously to spite the NPP. And you want to go beg him to come back? What kind of desperation thinking is this? Hasn't the NPP won elections before without Alan? Please leave DMB alone to manage his fortunes. Do not impose any Alan on him.
