Watch as CID officer stamps suspect alleged to have tried an escape using pepper spray

A social media video has shown what has been suspected to be an attempted escape of a man suspected of a crime.

According to the video, the suspect, who was being escorted during a court transfer in Kumasi, made an attempt to escape after allegedly attacking a Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officer with pepper.

Although none of those details stated above regarding the escape were captured in the said video, which also indicated that the suspect used pepper spray on the CID officer, it instead showed a moment between the two men that has gotten many online users commenting.

The moment showed as the said CID officer more than once stamped the stomach of the suspect with his foot, while the latter was cuffed and still lying on the floor.

According to the video shared on social media on May 13, 2026, the incident created a moment of confusion as the escorting officer struggled to regain control of the situation.

The video caption added that the suspect attempted to flee the scene, running in the direction behind the premises of Akoma FM.

However, the escape was short-lived as he was apprehended and brought back into custody.

The caption of the video showed how the suspect was later transported into an auto rickshaw, widely known us “Pragya,” under strict supervision.

Meanwhile, the police is yet to release an official statement regarding the incident as details of the suspect and the affected officer remain unclear.
