  So long as those who grant permits and those who certify buildings in wrong places, such as waterways go unpunished, so long will there be chaos in Accra. Everybody knows the problems. everybody knows the solution, but the enforcers of the laws are CORRUPT. The next flood must call for the heads of several people who enjoy the largess but sleep on the job.

  A day is coming when the seat of gov't will be flooded and all gov't activities would be halted. Since Accra floods started way back in the 80s, it has been nothing but talking and talking with no action. Lives and property lost and still it's occurring annually. Where are the 'book-long' people's expertise? Dubai or China has become tourist destination and if such floods occur there, they don't look elsewhere but they themselves will fix it. What kind of education do we go through in Ghana and Africa in general? In the next few years to come, jubilee house will flood. If it come to pass there we shall see our smooth level in the country.

  In addition landlords, filling station owners who have paved their compounds have directed their run offs straight onto the adjoining road surfaces instead of directing the run offs onto their frontage access culvert or drains. Most developers have blocked their frontage access culvert or did not provide any drainage sluts thereby discharging household or. Filling station forecourt run offs directly onto the road way causing flooding, this is what is happenong with the filling station at the Weija Jn and propertiies along the left hand side Weija- Kasoa Toll Booth section. Authorities should note that the sub chiefs, land guards wants to fill the left hand side channel along the drain ftom Weija Jn to Tetegu close to Agradaa's Church towards the foot bridge thereby reducing the drain capacity resulting in a potential flooding location.Here again the Weija- Gbawe Municipal Authority is watching unconcerned.
