An Accra High Court has dismissed an application filed by lawyer Andy Appiah-Kubi seeking to formally withdraw as counsel for the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
According to information gathered by GhanaWeb, the presiding judge held that Appiah-Kubi did not require the court's permission to discontinue his legal representation through a formal motion.

The court further indicated that any change in legal representation would not affect the proceedings, stressing that its ruling in the substantive matter would still be delivered on July 3, 2026.
