IT'S ONLY A MEMORANDUM FOLKS. Only time will tell if this is the BEGINNING of something good for the region or just another PAUSE before an even bigger storm restarts. HOWEVER, ONE THING IS CERTAIN- THINGS WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN FOR THE REGION NO MATTER THE FINAL OUTCOME, WHETHER THERE IS A FRESH OUTBREAK OF WAR OR THE BEGINNING OF A LASTING PEACE SETTLEMENT. The global perception of the most active participants of this conflict has also changed for good with some emerging with a STRONG and CONFIDENT image while others have seen their STANDING GREATLY DIMINISHED. The perceived prosperity and stability of some of the countries of the Gulf region (as financial centres, popular tourist destinations etc) has taken a horrible battering and may never recover to their pre-war level. We are likely to see new security arrangements if peace holds and past assumption sand entrenched positions abandoned.

It is a political surrender by the USA. Trump had no choice. Iran's standing has soared because not only did they survive the very severe onslaught from two great militaries including a superpower but they were also able to deliver serious amounts of damage and punishment to their foes. More importantly Iran was able to demonstrate convincingly it's ability to inflict catastrophic economic damage to its foes and their allies. IN THE END THE LAST POINT WAS THE DECISIVE FACTOR. CONTINUING TO FIGHT IRAN WAS NOT AN OPTION FOR ITS ENEMIES. IT WAS CERTAIN SUICIDE.
Hopefully lessons have been learned on all sides. The world simply cannot afford pointless and extremely destructive wars.
