Founder and General Overseer of the Believers Worship Centre, Prophet Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah
Prophet Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah, founder and General Overseer of the Believers Worship Centre, also known as the Philadelphia Movement, has found himself at the centre of a social media storm after a prophecy he made about Ghana's World Cup clash against Croatia failed to materialise.
In a video broadcast on June 26, 2026, via Voice of Philadelphia, believed to be the church's official platform, the prophet declared emphatically that Croatia stood no chance against the Black Stars, neither drawing nor winning the match.
"The team Ghana is playing against cannot draw against the Black Stars, the team cannot also beat Ghana.
"Those statistics and permutations that they are doing does not matter. That is why I came out to say this. The Black Stars will come out victorious," he declared.
However, on the night of June 27, 2026, Ghana suffered a 2-1 defeat to Croatia, sending the prophecy up in flames and igniting a fierce debate on Ghanaian social media about the role of religion in sports and the accountability of prophets.
"God will keep exposing you but the Jons will never stop following them," one user wrote.

"We are the reason why they keep doing this. We hype them. The day we all realise religion is a business is the day of their demise," another wrote.
"That be why I don't go to church nu ooo," one other netizen added.
Others however came to the prophet's defence, arguing that his words had been taken out of context," another wrote.
"He didn't really make a prediction though. He just said he's angered by the way people are underestimating Ghana because Croatia ain't really all that [tough]," said another.
The incident adds to a long-running debate in Ghana about prophets making public declarations on sporting events, with social media users calling for greater scrutiny of such pronouncements.
