Stop the bribe taking and enforce the laws of of our assemblies. Dredge our waterways regularly instead of waiting till disaster happens. The government should arrest all assembly administrators who make it difficult for citizens to do the right things. Stop blaming ordinary citizens for negligence of your duties.

I always say this will not go anywhere. I am a police officer and we were given a rented premises at haatso near the transition funeral home.
A washing bay owned by a lady, has built to block the road through the bay to the residence behind.
We have to squeeze ourselves to go through the edge of the stream to get to the roadside by foot.
The locals claim the owner is so powerful that when the residents complained, she called the police friends and the municipality staff against them.
This is the lawlessness we have. All you need in Ghana is know how to give envelopes.

That suggested was made around the late 60s, and what is going on today, 2026?

Now, the suggestion by the assembly member is an "Emotionally Driven" because commonsense says that flood can happen anywhere.

The solution here isn't just demolishing buildings. We have civil engineers who can help. Our MMDAs need to step up and design plans to harvest and store rainwater in our communities, while safely channeling the excess to the sea. The real problem is that the natural water reservoirs across Greater Accra are all choked up. The MMDAs must rather focus on dredging the choked rivers and gutters, and the construction of gutter channels. By this approach, we may reduce the amount of flooding

Our leaders including the President saw or heard this.Panbros itself is fighting for survival on a land they have owned for over 70years,can you imagine? On assumption of office around early 2025 the President himself took an inspection tour to the area around the Mallam Interchange at the Lafa stream strectching behind the Mallam market to the Dansomsn estate to witness for himself the filling of that channel and ordered stop work till today the area is filled up and operating with structures springing up including a sheep market. That primary drain strecthing into the Glefe lagoon west of Dansoman back to the Mallam Interchange remains a death trap.

We also encourage them to build permanent structures in every part of Accra they desire, like the waterways, on the lakes , Rivers, on the drainage systems etc. They can turn the street and drainage into their personal dumpsters. After all that, they should continue insulting us that we stupidly sold all our lands at cheap prices. They shouldn't worry we have more lands on the seashore. We love you all. We Are Ga's.
