I do not believe age of the fire tenders matter as much as maintenance records, adherence to manufacturer suggested maintenance schedules and manufacturer recommended replacement parts.

It may just be a case where current tenders may not be ideal or appropriate for new high-rise buildings but remain perfect for buildings they were intended to reach. There are cities across Canada, EU nations and USA where fire engines are over 20-years old but remain essential additions to a fleet of fire engines.

Because fire engines or tenders are not cheap, they are usually submitted as budgetary line items some 5-years ahead of scheduled need.
