I know little about soil science, but with some common common sense, I can imagine the effects of clearing hill tops: if the apex of a hill is open, it is more likely to erode under heavy rain. But if the top is covered (with flora), the effects of erosion will be minimal.

As an Adult, and only in 2012, I was for some days in MONACO, Monte Carlo and you wil see KWAHU towns in an ADVANCED SETTING. How beautiful!!
