In which country will such private and secret results be made public like that? The Western Countries are more promiscuous sexually than Ghanaians. Did we ever hear of any Developed country coming out publicly to declare HIV Positive applicants? Was there no way very appropriately to handle this issue than coming out publicly with it? When was the first time that any Developed Country come out with such a declaration. Now when other countries start to blacklist Ghanaians in terms of Health Situations, then we caused it.
AIDS is no more as deadly as it used to be. It no more kills as it used to be so long as the person who has it takes the medications as directed. Those who came out with this information should be sanctioned and not be ever allowed to handle classified information and documents. Do we know the number of Ghanaians who are HIV Positive applicants? Start checking from the MPs and the other Politicians.

I am very much happy that I am not HIV Positive because in Uncle Sam’s country, your wife and children are tested for HIV and other diseases. My Children work in the Medical field and are frequently tested for various diseases including even Tuberculosis among others. Yes, for your Teaching Certification, one has to undergo tests for some infectious diseases. Leave Frank Agyena Karikari out of this equation. The release of information about that many applicants for the Military is obnoxious and totally stupid. Did the applicants agree to be tested for the HIV? It is abnormal and stupid to declare that that many tested Positive to the HIV. I am glad that no names were published but in Ghana, the names will filter out.

In fact, in the of Uncle Sam, it is boldly stated that "...approximately 1.2 million people in the U.S. are living with HIV, and about 1 in 8 don’t know it." (U. S. Statistics journal) Unless, the land of Uncle Sam is also not CIVILIZED.
In any case, this stats is very SCARY. We, as a country, tend to be so careless in our way of doing things, especially, when it comes to sex. I don't care what happens in another country. I care about what this means in my country. The naming and shaming is one way to go. I quite remember in the early 90's Ghanaians, the peak of HIV infection, had a slogan, which goes like "...despite the AIDS we shall f**k..." using G'man's tune.
Let us wake up and address the issue and stop finding faults with the report.

Barring false figures, the minister’s claim is scary but entirely plausible.

Hopefully the security agency has privately informed each of those applicants of their HIV test results and issued a stern warning to them, their immediate families or guardians that they shall face the death penalty if they knowngly -after the official notification from the government- engage in any activities with other Ghanaians that leads to others being infected.

The government must also offer testing to family and others the known carriers have had intimacy that may lead to those others being carriers. It is important that we nip this scurge before it renders the upcoming generation of workers incapable of 20-years of productivity to themselves nor the nation while they become dependent on government programs.

I don’t trust Muntaka.NDC and lies. It’s a strategy they are using to disqualify a lot of the applicants. Coming out with the HIV tag for rejected applicants will prevent them from attacking Muntaka and the NDC.

I remember I went tutu line in Nima in 1983 to enjoy myself but I end up having gonohria from there I learn my lesson.
