Black Stars defender Marvin Senaya is reportedly expected to spend at least eight weeks on the sidelines after undergoing a successful surgery on a hamstring injury sustained during Ghana's Round of 32 clash against Colombia at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Ghana medical team confirmed the extent of the injury following an MRI scan conducted in Kansas City, which revealed a significant hamstring tear.

The Black Stars' medical staff immediately began treatment before arrangements were made for the player to undergo surgery in Paris.

The procedure was successful, and Senaya has since returned to his French club, AJ Auxerre, where he will continue his rehabilitation under the supervision of the club's medical team.

The Ghana Football Association and AJ Auxerre are working closely together to ensure the defender's recovery progresses smoothly.

The 24-year-old is expected to spend at least two months on the sidelines, dealing a blow to both club and country ahead of the new season.
