I remember those days in the 70s where you would meet a policeman with just MSLC Certificate but the impeccable English language they would speak with good handwriting. An armed robber with Kenkey in his hand standing by the roadside waiting for his children. The couldn't even use common sense to help them determine whether if he's a suspect. This country is sinking.Elsewhere they would manhandle a suspect only when they believed you're carrying a weapon or obstruct arrest.

Worse things are happening. Private people hiring soldiers to brutalise innocent citizens in this country.
As it happened in the case of Kwabena Oppong at Bekwai -Domenase in the Ashanti region.
About two weeks ago, Kwabena was at home cleaning his children's school shoes in the morning when 4 soldiers entered the house and just after satisfying themselves that he was indeed the right person they're looking for, pounced on him. The first unexpected slap sent him to the ground. While on the ground, more slaps, kicks, and poundings with the butts of their guns ensued in a beastial manner.
The purpose for their mission and inhuman action was to beat the hell out of him for daring to sell a supposed piece of land belonging to their private pay master.
A few days later when elders of the town sat on the matter, the truth came out; the pay master of the soldiers rather bought the land from a dubious character years after Kwabena bought the land from the rightful owners on behalf of a friend who lives abroad.
The man, confronted with the truth, then decided to compensate Kwabena on his own terms. Must this show of uncivilized power and impunity be allowed to end in this fashion. " I come, I survey, and I conquer?. In today's Ghana?, Really?.
If we're a civilized nation, a stringent law will be in place and strictly and impartially enforced to teach people like the soldiers' pay master we live in a community of human beings, not in the community of animals in the jungle.
Civil Society Organizations, Human rights activists, Investigative journalists, the Manasseh Awuni Azures of this land, don't you think this needs your attention and advocacy to uproot this inhumane canker out of our nation ?.
