England midfielder Jude Bellingham has apologised to supporters following the Three Lions’ disappointing exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, admitting he is devastated after falling short of his dream of becoming a world champion.

Speaking after England’s elimination, the 23-year-old said he had hoped to be part of the squad that would finally end the country’s decades-long wait for a second World Cup title.

“I wanted to be part of an England team that became world champions,” Bellingham said.

“I wish I could have given the fans one or two more wins, but I’m very sad and disappointed.”

The midfielder acknowledged the frustration of once again having to explain another painful World Cup exit to England supporters, describing the experience as emotionally draining.

“I wanted to be part of an England squad that finally got it over the line. To be here telling the fans, unfortunately, the same things that they’ve probably heard for years and years, it’s really gruelling,” he said.

An emotional Bellingham admitted he was still trying to process the disappointment and struggled to find the right words after the defeat.

“I wish I could say more. At the moment, my head’s a bit fuzzy with disappointment. So, I’m sorry,” he added.
