  These charges don’t justify the destoolment of the longest serving chief in Ashanti. He’s not a criminal. He’s just old. At 106 years old, he needs to be celebrated and not disgraced with destoolment. The King seems to be in a hurry for something best known to only himself. Otherwise why do this to a 106 years old chief who has brought education to his people so well? The King needs to be advised well. His random destoolment left, right, and center isn’t making chieftaincy palatable at all. He needs to put himself in the shoes of his subchiefs before he can understand my advice.

  You’re talking about a criminal offense but what the old man did was a civil issue. He’s been accused of disobeying Asante custom. But a custom isn’t static. For instance in the past, the Ashantis used to slaughter innocent people when the King died but no one follows that barbarism anymore. The other charge against the chief was that he created a subchief without seeking authorization. Why and how does he had to do this? And these flimsy reasons, you destool a 106 years old chief? How bullish! The King himself needs to be destooled. He seems to be out of wisdom.

  Ghana is a Republic and not a Kingdom.
  He should help us stop Galamsey on Ashanti lands by destooling chiefs that practice galamsey. Otherwise, he is part of the problem.

  For me to respect this Asante Chief, btw, he is a Chief, not a king as Ghana is a Republic, he should start destooling all the chiefs on whose lands galamsey is practised. He is part of the galamsey problem, and he should help Ghana stop this menace.
