These are normal with power generation. In August 2023, an overgrown tree caused blackout for about 50 million people on the North Eastern Block (Us and Canada), and this lasted for about 3 days. With thunder, it is a usual affair in Ontario anytime it rains with thundering. Mice, squirrels and racoons also do cause blackouts in Canada and the US. Hence thunderstorm and python causing blackout in Ghana is not something that is unheard of.
