By the way, the Fire Service PR has disputed this gentleman's account. He says they (the Fire Service personnel made an opening at the back of the bus through several others were rescued. And that this gentleman might have been temporarily disoriented because of his own trauma from the accident and so might not have been aware of the rescue efforts that happened at the backside of the bus. I hope the Fire Service account is true.

Road Accidents in Ghana has claimed a lot of innocent lives . This has been happening since time immemorial yet our government has no clue about what to do to minimize the road accidents. Where traffic laws have to be enforced by our police and traffic control personnel, some ignore them after receiving bribes from these operators. Some of the vehicles are not road worthy but they do ply our roads in the full glare of the police. Our roads are to narrow yet we see drivers over speeding and causing these accidents. These heavy duty trucks travel on these roads with passenger cars with hardly no room to maneuver to avert these accidents. It is time government assign specific days and times for these articulator trucks to travel on our highways. We have to do better and save lives with the implementation of strict traffic rules.

I'm not in Ghana at the moment but monitors events in Ghana frequently. There has been too many needless accidents leading to deaths on that road over the last month.
Meanwhile, our leaders remain unconcerned while people's loved ones continue to perish. If with all the resources Ghana has, our stupid politicians can't see the dualisation of the Accra Kumasi highway as an emergency project to save lives then they deserve to be cursed. It's pathetic how we put white elephants in charge of our affairs.

Abobo Yaa, Pragia and Trotro is allowed to drive on a motorway whilst a rotten slow moving vehicle is allowed to drive on the outer speed lane as the police or whoever is charged to stop this nonsense stands at the road side to collect their money.

Anybody who uses that road knows how drivers gets careless on that stretch. Overtaking even on curves. It's about time we take responsibility for our actions. This is not a matter of Ghana is not a developed country and laws don't work. If you value your life, you'll be cautious of your actions and inactions?
