Isaac Bampoe Addo, Executive Secretary of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has passed away at the age of 59.
Isaac Bampoe Addo, popularly known as Marico, died on Friday, August 21, 2026, leaving colleagues and associates mourning the loss of a respected union leader.
News of his death has triggered an outpouring of tributes, with those who worked closely with him remembering him for his leadership, mentorship and strong personal relationships.
In a tribute issued following his passing, Bampoe Addo was described as a man of integrity and resilience who provided CLOGSAG with purposeful leadership marked by dedication, compassion and commitment.
His colleagues also praised his pursuit of excellence, loyalty and ability to motivate and influence people around him.
Beyond his official responsibilities, he was remembered as a mentor and brother whose impact extended to the many relationships he developed throughout his career.
“Mr Bampo Addo, fondly known as Marico, was a pillar of strength and integrity. As Head of CLOSSAG, he led with vision, diligence, and compassion. His commitment to excellence, unwavering loyalty, and ability to inspire those around him have left an indelible mark on us all. A mentor, a leader, a brother and a friend — he will be deeply missed but forever remembered,” the statement read.
Colleagues said his absence would be deeply felt within the association and among those who had the opportunity to work with him.
