'If you go to jail, it will be because of the loot' - KSM fires Kusi Boateng

Veteran media personality, Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM), has told the founder of Power Chapel Worldwide, Rev Victor Kusi Boateng, that if he will ever be jailed, it will be linked to the controversial National Cathedral project and not because of his friendship with the former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

KSM was responding to comments by Rev Kusi Boateng that he was not afraid of going to prison because of his close relationship with Dr Bawumia and his wife, Samira Bawumia.

It will be recalled that Rev Kusi Boateng, who served as Executive Secretary to the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral project, had made the comments while speaking to his congregation at an event on August 17, 2026.

“I don’t care whatever people think about it; Dr Bawumia is my friend and will continue to be my friend. I will not hide it. I'm not a hypocrite. And if for this reason anybody wants to imprison me, go ahead,” he said.

Reacting to the comments on his show on August 24, 2026, KSM said Rev Kusi Boateng should not suggest that his friendship with Dr Bawumia could be the reason for any possible arrest or imprisonment.

“You see, this is what ideally, I would call nonsensical nonsense. Listen, I'm sure you're aware that the forensic audit for the National Cathedral is out… And trust me, those who have been fingered in the audit are mostly some pastors who engaged in this scam. The National Cathedral was a complete scam,” KSM said.

He said Rev Kusi Boateng could be called to answer questions over the findings of the audit and suggested that his comments about his friendship with Dr Bawumia could be an attempt to get ahead of the issue.

“So, some of the pastors who have engaged in it, I'm sure that will be called by EOCO or somebody, and the funny thing is, I think Kusi-Boateng, becoming aware that this report is out, knowing for sure that somewhere along the line, he might be called, so, he tried to pre-empt it by throwing Jandam out there,” he stated.

KSM also criticised Rev Kusi Boateng for raising the issue during his child's marriage ceremony.

“All of that talk, I thought, was absolute crap. Number one, on the occasion of your child's marriage was not a platform to make Jandam propaganda,” he expressed.

He stressed that any arrest or imprisonment would have to be based on the findings of the court.

“If you will go to jail, it is because you will, number one, be found guilty of totally embezzling funds… stealing funds,” KSM said.

He added that being friends with Dr Bawumia was not a reason for anyone to be arrested.

“But if the court comes up with findings that absolutely accuse you, then it will be based on that, that you'll be sent to jail and not because you're Bawumia's friend,” he stated.

KSM clarified that he was not saying Rev Kusi Boateng would be arrested, but only explaining what would happen if he were arrested and prosecuted.

“What I'm saying, if you are arrested, is because of this loot, and if the court frees you because they find nothing, fine,” he explained.

He urged Rev Kusi Boateng to stop suggesting that his friendship with Dr Bawumia could be used as grounds for his arrest.

“So, speaking of your relationship with Bawumia as grounds for your arrest is absolutely nonsensical, folks. Because the logic of what you're saying is… please, stop that pre-Jandam,” KSM added.
