The Managing Director of Enterprise Properties Ltd, Kwadwo Nini Owusu, has called for greater investment in education, saying supporting children today is critical to building responsible leaders for the future.

He said education should go beyond academic achievement to help young people develop discipline, confidence and a sense of responsibility.

Kwadwo made the remarks at the 15th anniversary celebration of Enterprise Properties Ltd, where the company launched an education initiative themed, “Learn Today. Lead Tomorrow.”

Under the initiative, 200 pupils from three basic schools in Accra received backpacks containing learning materials.

The beneficiary schools are Accra Sempe Basic School, John Wesley Methodist Basic School, and 28th & Private Road and Private Odartey Lamptey Memorial Basic School.

He said the support was intended to encourage pupils who have demonstrated commitment to their education.

“When you invest in a child, you are investing in a future family, a future community and ultimately, a future Ghana,” he said.

The beneficiaries were selected from among the top five pupils in each class, from Basic One to Basic Nine, across the three schools.

For the older pupils, the company also provided copies of The Young Investor’s Compass, a book that introduces basic financial concepts, including saving, budgeting and responsible spending.

Kwadwo urged the pupils to take their education seriously and develop values that would help them become responsible members of society.

“Leadership is not about having a title. It is about taking responsibility,” he said.

He also encouraged the children to use the knowledge and opportunities they gain to support others.

“Whatever success you eventually achieve is not only for you. Use your knowledge, your talents and your opportunities to make life better for someone else,” he added.

The Managing Director commended teachers and parents for their role in guiding the children, stressing that their support remains crucial in helping young people reach their full potential.

The initiative forms part of Enterprise Properties’ corporate social investment activities, with education identified as one of the company’s key areas of focus.
