KSM is a failed comedian. Even Agya Koo, Lilwin, and others who are virtually illiterate have made fortunes and names for themselves in Ghana. With all that KSM has been through in education and the journalism, he has nothing to show. WIth the small position that JM gave his wife on the NCA Board, It has completely taken away the little brain that you used to have when you came to Ghana and entered the broadcast arena. I know that without any good job at your age, you may rely heavily on the benevolence of the government. But do not sell your conscience. I do not agree with Allan Kyeremateng on many fronts. However, I dont understand why we should spend the tax payers' USD4Billion to construct such a major road project when the private sector is prepared to pay for it and reclaim their money with profit in 50 years. Even the USD1Billion that the gov't claims to have spent on the bush clearing is very strange and smacks of heavy stealing. At worst, this part of the project shouldn't cost USD100Million. Is the president rushing to spend such huge sums of state money so they can create, loot and share about USD1Billion from the budgeted amount? Why haven't the gov't done value for money analysis before jumping to conclusion on the cost?

If I understand Alan well, he is proposing a build, operate and transfer funding for the expressway. This is not loan. We shall still have the road to benefit Ghanaians without the state contributing any funds apart from the land. The huge sum earmarked for the project can be used for other important projects. Someone proposed the railway which could equally be operated on commercial lines to generate revenue for the state.
We must remember most state funded projects are not viable because they are not managed well. A privately funded road will be well managed and maintained.

How many projects funded with internally generated funds have been fully completed? Even some projects have been left uncompleted with grants or loans. This expressway will definitely be left uncompleted just like dualization of Accra-Kumasi road started by ex-president Kuffour. How many years since ex-president Kuffour left office and why is it that nearly two decades not completed? What shows that lack of funds syndrome won't catch up with this project too ? Our politicians are quick to start a project, set completion date and the date will elapse and the project is stalled. This project will definitely stall and the reason why is lack of funds, mark it on the wall. I'm not a prophet of doom but it's been a tradition in our history.

• Foreign investor will change their earnings in cedis to dollars and repatriate.

• Local investors, yes. But capacity and competence to manage this project scale remains in doubt. May be we could pilot lesser road projects to build local capacity.

• Govt will retain the revenue.
