Pastor Paul Enenche, founder of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, says he has never employed a woman as his secretary or personal assistant in his 30 years of experience.
Speaking during a discussion about boundaries between married men and female secretaries during a church service, Enenche said the decision was a personal one, while acknowledging that women are often considered suitable for secretarial roles because of their attention to detail.
“I have never had one for 30 years either as a secretary or as a PA. That’s personal decision,” he said.
Enenche explained that some secretaries repeatedly make mistakes in their work, even after corrections, as he addressed the importance of choosing employees carefully.
“There are times where you have some secretaries and they write one letter, 15 mistakes. You correct it, it still happens, just keeps on happening,” he said.
He agreed with his wife’s broader advice that married men should protect themselves by avoiding situations that could create unnecessary problems.
“Ensure that you protect yourself and whatever is avoidable, let it be avoided,” he added.
“As a man, how is your secretary a woman? and that secretary is not your wife. Please don't allow anybody take the place of your wife”
