There is no distinguished architect in Ghana. They are all copy and paste practitioners, that's why they keep on building dysfunctional houses that need ACs after 69 years of independence!
So what would you say about buildings in Dubai, Qatar, Texas, Florida, etc. and air-conditioning?
The whole article is about how special Unity Hall is, so why are we not shown a picture of unity Hall?

Unity Hall at KNUST, has a design problem, in that the central corridors are dark, damp and poorly ventilated. Most of the bathrooms have no external windows, hence smell from the bathrooms is always in the corridors.
The man was born in 1928. What do you expect from him? He belongs to the 1950s.
