It is impossible to say the same number of voters who were alleged to have voted without verification are different from the number that voted without pink slips etc. Anin Yeboah, Jones Dotse, Sophia Akuffo, Baffoe Bonnie and Rose Owusu must be mad to seek to destroy the country as the bogus judges in Ivory Coast did.

Remember they form almost 50% of the electorates, let them have their day in court, that will not take anything from us Ghanaians as a whole. And God save the petition if the NDC's application for a joinder is upheld by the court. Even if there were irregularities that favoured the president (which to me is far from the truth), the case will travel beyond the four year term of the president. Nana Addo and the NPP lawyers are just wasting everybody's time including theirs. There is no way Nana Addo can be president. He should get this fact once and for all and let us have our peace.

There are no courts that do appoint presidents or prime ministers in civilized nation, especially those nations supposedly practicing democratic rule.
Those who think what happened in the USA in 2000 (Bush Vs Gore) amounts to the courts appointing a president ought to think again. In that case the electoral process had not been completed and or a president declared a winner by the electoral college; there were vote counting that were ongoing in some few precincts in one state needing to be completed for a winner to be declared.
In Ghana the EC which is charged with organization of the election process, counting of ballots and declaration of winner(s) based on ballot counts had completed the exercise and declared a winner. What Ghana's courts are supposed to declare is whether the ballot cumulative counts for each candidate for the presidency matches actual ballots cast by voters. If the courts do not have proof of raw thievery and or clear evidence of votes cast that are illegal and or far in excess of registered voters in each voting district/precinct, then the judges would be engaging in judicial folly reversing the declared winner; at best they may call for re-casting of ballots in some areas of Ghana where evidence exist to support unsavory activities.
Anyone in the NPP’s legal team that stoops to the gutter level counting on NPP sympathizers on the court to do their underhanded bidding should note that Ghana's so-called judiciary would be destroyed for good and nothing coming out of Ghana will forever be deemed to be trustworthy.

President Mahama's response to call 4,800 witnesses to defend against the suit by Nana Akufo Addo, Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is apparently designed to cause interminable delay in the adjudication of the most important legal suit in the history of Ghana. President Mahama's lawyers have denied that this approach will delay the court process, countering the fears of the petitioners.

This being the case nothing should be allowed to stand in the way of justice that will affect the rights of both the petitioners and the respondents.

As the popular saying goes: Justice must not only be seen to be done but manifestly be so seen to be done. And this should be in the interests of both the petitioner and the respondent.

If all the 4,800 witnesses are allowed to appear before the justice, honestly, it will make the adjudicating process unwieldy. In much the same way as petioners and respondents file their cases, simialr procedures should be worked out to arrest the apparently never ending delay that will attend this petition, so even in the event of an NPP victory, it will only be a Phyrric victory. This has happened at least once in the electoral history in Ghana. And this current petition is a bigger one affecting the whole country and also vested international interest in democratic experiments, especially as with the Third World.

We should not forget Hon Amoh's electoral petition many years ago affecting just a cosntituency in Ghana when after the High Court declared in his favour, Parliament had recessed in four years and Hon Amoh could not get the chance to take his seat in Parliament. This is what Kwesi Pratt is gleefully predicting fifteen years of sitting on this case, the equivalence of four (4)terms of governance.

But this scenario should not be allowed to repeat in the constitutional history of Ghana , as we see it rearing its ugly head again. This issue of a presidential election petition is so important to the political history of Ghana and the rights and wills of Ghanaians, so much that nothing should be allowed to obviate the rule of law and the course of justice in Ghana. The magnitude of this event is unprecedented. But I believe that our justices at the Supreme Court can rise up to the challenge and quickly apply procedures that can effectively deal with such a foreseen delay in administering justice.

I believe our respected justices have many ways of tackling such challenges. However my humble suggestion is that the justices should require the witnesses of the respondent (s)to put their evidence in writing for the petititoners also to answer them. I believe this should be legally permissible to address or arrest a situation that would impede the administration of justice. If by applying such measures there should be need to cross examine witnesses that should also be allowed to take place. That is if the petitioners so elect to do. I believe this is one of the ways that the petioners and respondents will feel satisfied with expeditious handling of this petititon.

Kwesi Pratt is so naive he does not realize by such statements he he lays bare the NDC'S plan to get this case running for as long as they can - even into the next elections in 2016. One such example of their dirty manipulation of the legal process is Mahama's indication of calling 4,800 witnesses. They should remember though that they cannot carry their lies and propaganda to the courts. I only pray they brief those paid agents about the consequences of perjuring in court
