Ghanaians are not Englishmen or British. And if you lived or met many Brits or Englishmen, you would realise how some of them make simple mistakes in the only single language they know. And many Brits are surprised about how foreigners speak better than them.

Don't dwell so much on mistakes people make. You should be worried about the fairness of comments and not grammar. Not everyone is lucky to be educated in English like you and English is not the standard to measure one's knowledge or reasoning power. Our Supreme court is always clarifying the meaning of what our laws are when there is ambiguity. But the laws were written by people who are perhaps educated than you and me. So stop the bullying over correctness in post and try to filter what one is attempting to say.

The problem with those who want to be English tutors on Ghanaweb is that, like little minds who discuss personalities and not issues,they lack anything substantive/constructive to contribute to an issue at stake but cannot curb the compulsion to contribute at all cost so end up picking on insignificant things like faulting others on grammar and usage. They are like addicts who must get their daily fix or go bananas. On the other hand, anyone with an in-depth understanding of the issue goes for the jugular, irrespective of whether a preceding comment is grammatically sound or not because he or she would have grasped the line of thought being articulated.

You have clearly stated it but I also want to add my voice to your sentiments that, the emphasis should be on whether a contributor has anything intelligent/significant to contribute to what is a national discourse. Even be it in pidgin English, as long as a person has a grasp of the debate and can contribute constructively, why deny him/her the opportunity. English is not our mother tongue so what is the farce all about?

Forums such as these are ostensibly, qausi-parliament houses where the voice of the ordinary man goes towards influencing decision makers in their actions, ultimately. What most people fail to realize is that, decision makers sample public opinion through referral to such forums in the absence of direct interaction with the people so nobody should be discouraged from participating. It is one thing to try and draw attention to wrong grammar and usage in a polite way to help avoid a recurrence but another thing altogether to try to disparage and humiliate the person, something which smacks of tactlessness.

YOU GUYS THINK YOU ARE RELIVED NOW? Instead of Nana and the Legal council allowing the case to go on and for Nana to get the chance to prove everyone he is a lawyer who attended a law school and was called to the bar correctly, or that he is the real WAD, rather, the legal council sensing danger for them and Nana because of their illegal past activities rather killed the case. Now Nana is walking around with the cloud of suspicion on his head. That action by the court has not solved the issue; it has rather intensified the suspicions around Nana in regard to this case. Nana may feel relieved from the shame and disgrace that was befalling him, but he is indeed a suspicious character walking around.
Let his supporters not rejoice, for the question still remains: “what kind of a man will allow a court to throw away such a serious case instead of allowing him chance to clear all doubts about him?”

The truth you guys cannot swallow is that Nana has a 3rd class in Legon and no law school and no law degree. He is fraudulent that is why he needed the court to throw the case out instead of allowing it to be heard in its totality to clear the air for him. What has he showed to the people of Ghana regarding the issue? Nothing!!. Most people are smarter than you guys give them credit for and for you to think people are convinced by the high courts action is a fools joke. Nana may be your hero but nothing close to Mahama’s achievements and that is a fact with evidence! Has Nana been a vice president or president of a country before? No!!!. So how is he anything close to MAHAMA?
