Some of us are following our stomach rather than thinking about our nation as a whole. It is quite unfortunate to hear people living abroad yet, supporting this reckless and irresponsible government. Ghana, under Mahama is in a state of confusion and no one need a rocket scientist to say that. As we speak, Mahama has imposed the highest taxes on the nation since independent and what is the sense in it? In any nation with people who understand the recklessness of this government, voters will reject them at the polls but not in Ghana where people vote with their stomach instead with their brains.

If the hawks in the NPP don't know the quick acceptance and congratulatory message Nana Addo sent to President Mahama on the Judgement Day, raised the image of the party much higher than could be imagined. That, definitely is excellent for the electoral fortunes of the party.

And for the country, that the party's choice of settling electoral dispute at the court, instead of on the streets AND Nana's singular and decisive, act have undoubtedly given the country a new image. An image of law abidingness, so needed for any investment drive; and a democratic pedigree unequaled in Africa.

A review is a must if sanity is to prevail in the system. I read an opinion of Justice Atuguba in which he disregarded the failure of Electoral Commission Officers in signing the forms they were supposed to sign with the argument that Party representatives in the affected polling stations signed those forms. He further went on to cite the fact that Elections Canada also resort to using temporarily workers on an election day. What he fails to recognize in his line of argument is that Canadian society and Canadian Institutions' behaviour are totally different than Ghanaians as far as upholding the rule of law is concerned. It will be laughable to compare the extent of corruption in Ghana to that of Canada. Election Canada is currently prosecuting a gentleman affiliated to the current ruling Party, the Conservative Party of Canada for his attempt to suppress the vote by directing people to wrong polling stations during the last Federal elections. This is a Government Institution that works and that take their obligations seriously. Compare that to the Elecoral Commission of Ghana. It is a fact, and it is on record that NDC operatives were snatching ballot boxes and disrupting voting during the 2008 elections and recently disrupting the registration of citizens during the barometric registration exercise. I would like Justice Atuguba to tell Ghanaians and the world how many of those criminals that were caught have been prosecuted by Ghana's Electoral Commission?
It is one thing for the Electoral Commission to declare results that are the same as those attested to by Party agents with their signatures, and the Election Officer negligently not signing his part. It is entirely a different matter when results announced by the Electoral Commission headquarters are different than those attested to by Party agents. The NPP will be doing a disservice to Ghana if they don't seek a review, and allow an illegality become legal with this line of reasoning the Supreme Court Justice took in dismissing the petition.
