we said last year that there is no way mahama and his team could do anything for the country except rob us blind . today we repeat the same , he has no policies except propaganda bullshit and lies. we see somehow that muslims all over the continent of africa are trying to seize power or cause economic destruction ( see CAR and Angola). an uprising of the people is what will cleanse this foolishness . we have everything we need to develop but the true enemy of progress is our own govt saturated with corruption, of non action no good decision just greed. Patience is not a virtue but cowardice if one is faced by such injustices , it is up to our generation to clean up this mess in war so we dont burden future generations with our shit. We'll like to bring PEACE FM'S attention to the situation that is going on in their sister Radio station at GhanaToday HOLLAND. It has been cleared to the listeners of Ghana Today radio , how the presenter Kofi nyarko was rude to the sympathizers of the ruling NDC Gov, on his "wosukabi" program. Kofi nyarko did not end his rudeness, but Kofi organized members from his npp party, especially those who were akan's, they were carefully selected to come on air to dehumanized the rest of the tribes here in Ghana on his radio show. We the listeners here in Ghana can confirm to the PEACE FM management that the home grown npp terrorist who is now residing in Holland kofi nyarko, has done the same thing he was used to on Monday the 10th of February, when one of his regular caller named Joe Canada ,the sympathizer of the ruling NDC Gov. We heard this gentleman who called the program to refute to the comments one of the caller who is also a sympathizer of the opposition party the npp. The npp man called the program and run insults and accused the people from the Volta Region for the hardships the country is currently facing, he said according to him, he didn't understand why the Ewe's should elect somebody like Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa as their MP , he asked? He went on by saying the Ewe's gives their Votes to anything in front of them, even animals. This uncalled-for words goes down well for the host Kofi nyarko which he congratulated the frustrated npp caller. When the sympathizer to the ruling NDC Gov, Joe Canada, also call the program to refute the unfortunate comments from the npp caller, kofi nyarko who can't hide his affection support for the opposition p npp party ,quickly jumped to defend the npp caller. Kofi nyarko gave his strong warning to the NDC caller not to dare call his radio programs to contribute again, he went on to said , he won't even pick up his call anytime he sees he Joe Canada's number on his phone. These ugly situations compelled some of us to send a strong warning to PEACE FM management, to urgently arrest this situation before its get out of hands. We believed kofi nyarko is trying hard to sow a tribal seeds between us here in GHANA and abroad. The management of PEACE FM must know that kofi nyarko who was placed on npp pay roll to tarnish the ruling NDC Gov, and his division tactics by playing a tribal cards is dangerous to our society and our young democracy here in GHANA We are looking forward to see the management of PEACE FM to call un-erected host kofi nyarko to immediate order before we hit the street of Accra.

Can you withdraw from an ATM machine, even in Ghana beyond a certain x amount?
These regulations are and used by the developed countries to stabilize their currencies. This is the time for Ghana to insist and enforce the regulations for the the economy to improve.
Of course, the opposition party will always cash in on these stringent regulations and portray themselves as if they are the alternative solution, and rightly so, until they are voted in and the mess continues!

Secondly, there is a daily limit to how much one can withdraw cash from an ATM. However, one can call one's bank in advance and request an increase in the daily limit.

And, please, admit to the fact that Ghana at the moment is not in an enviable economic stead. Truth does not kill anybody.

The South African Rand, the Turkish Lire, the Nigerian Naira , the Indian Rupee as well as Ghana's Cedi have been affected by the economic policies of the US Federal Reserve.

Through a policy reffered to as Quantitative Easing (QE), the US central bank - the Federal Reserve - has been buying billions of dollars of
long-term debts in an effort to keep interest rates low and stimulate the US economy.

And this QE has adversely impacted the emerging economies throughout the world; so Minuah Kwesi, don't blame the opposition.

Would a more sensible and plausible explanation not have been targeted at the Chinese,whose control of several trillions of US dollar-reserves,has been a major source of concern for the 'talking-heads' in Washington,particularly the fiscal conservatives?
I am not up-to-date on the balance of trade trade numbers for many of these EM countries,but I can`t see Ghana enjoying having the upper hand, or more generally, holding any appreciable long-term loan portfolio[s] against Uncle Sam!
Part of the difficulty our economy is facing in the S/T, can be attributed to the incongruent policies being pursued by MoF and BoG;and the lack proper reaction to a well-established cyclical demand pattern for $US to settle pre-Christmas purchases which come due around this time frame!
And then what does the BoG do to stem this S/T demand for US currency?
What is a mere $20 million infusion supposed to do to calm the waters when the 'storm' has already hit the mainland? In our particular case, don`t you think foreigners who hold cedi-denominated T-bills have their eyes on the ball? A 13% [now pegged at 16%] nominal interest rate,which may have appeared attractive a few months,obviously became much less so when budget deficit numbers continued to rise.
For sure the nay-sayers are having a field day,but the managers of the economy are the ones who have provided the opposition elements the 'ammunition' to make mileage out of the current situation!

This is basic economics. If the govt has the dollars all the govt does is flood the market with dollars to stable the local currency, the cedi. The govt does not have the foreign currency that is the reason why you can withdraw only $10,000.00 per transaction. So stop the stupidity and the blame on the opposition.The govt. controls the finance of the country and not the opposition. Stop your propaganda it is becoming hollow.

You cannot just go to the Bank and take any amount of Foreign currency and do what yo want with it. There are quotas, and where neessary you need a a permission from the Government.

In some Airports, the custom officers come in at the last gate and check passengers as to how much cash he or she is taking out of the Country, and the Profession of the person, why all that? Because it a rule to keep their currency.

In Ghana, changes are very strange. Stop blaming people for nothing.

When people like you go to politicians and collect thousands of Dollars,and sell your conscience to turn truth upside down,this is the end result:Shortage of dollars for genuine businessmen to go about their legitimate business.
We were all in Ghana some years ago when Kwasi Pratt surreptitiously collected $120,000 from NDC government, and when Haruna Atta and other Journalists raised the issue, Kwasi Pratt used the Coffee Shop Mafia connection to kill the case.
Today, Kwasi pratt has the effrontery to tell Ghanaians that the shortage of dollars is all propaganda by the opposition. Is it the opposition that is directing the course of the Ghanaian economy? The import of your stand is that the Finance Minister is incompetent in coming out with directives for the Banks to control the issue of dollars. The Minister failed to do his homework well before coming out with the directives. If he had done his homework well, he would have realized that the shortage is all propaganda by opposition.
Kwesi, if people like you stop collecting bribes in dollars from politicians, Ghana would have enough dollars in circulation for the government to prosecute its developmental agenda.

You get the high interest late on foreign currency account in
Ghana and still expect to spend foreign currency at the expense of the Cedi? No way for this doe not happen in any country.

So simple, if they want the money back in foreign currency as cash, Government must find a way to tax
them to minimize the profit earned.

The Cedi must rise very soon.
