    This creates new source of bribery for Police to line their pockets and undue harassment of cits. Check road-worthy vehicles through annual registrations by department of motor vehicles.

    why else charge more for v-8's and sports cars?????no cars are built in ghana so high duties are sweet heart deals for the car dealers(chevy,toyota,tata)

    some antique cars in usa are worth 10 times the price they sold as new! restored 1955 chevys can bring $30-50,000(60-100,000 cedi)...while these cars sold for $2000 in the 1950's.. The should be stopped for defective equipmen ...

    We don't manufacture even a tyre in the country. LOWER the import duty on vehicles to REASONABLE LEVELS and people will bring in NEWER and SAFER vehicles to ply the VEHICLE-WORTHY-ROADS.

    It is the duty of the Police to ensure that people ride in vehicles in safety. Good job DCOP Alex Quainoo. What about motor bike riders, who run through red traffic light? It is very dangerous.
