Well, Laryeh, to be fair, this man is not an Ashante. I suspect he is not Bono either. As a Bono myself, I believe he is a non-Bono who was born there and named after his landlord. Why? His uncle is called Kamalia Moshie.That is a very common practice among settlers. Moshie is not a surname, but many of the older people from certain tribes don't have surnames, or don't know theirs. People therefore call them by their tribe. I could be wrong, of course, but I am very sure he is not Bono, definitely not Ashante.

The lack of wisdom that drives our political leaders coupled with a societal acceptance of getting rich by foul means as a norm is driving home acts that were once unheard of in Ghana. Growing up in Ghana I heard of people being killed when there was the passing/death of chiefs in some tribal kingdoms like the Asantehene. Those were the scariest times in the life of a poor Ghanaian of school age.
Fast forward some 50 years later and now we get people who have bought into filth, greed and a culture where women go after trashy men with money but no work. We also have men who sleep around with women lacking in class and faithfulness/loyalty as long as they give it up without blinking an eye. This is what happens to a society that has been pushed into chaotic existence by greedy people who talk about freedoms they could not understand and principles of true freedoms they are unwilling to practice and or sustain because it requires sacrifice and selflessness; character traits that are foreign to Ghanaians.
