4/. Government can collect taxes on electricity and use the money for other things. And above all, hold ECG responsible for any failures. Where did this prof get his degrees from? Stop this text book application and apply common sense. His model does not work. Be realistic

Then again if Mr. or Prof. Ocquaye concludes his case by saying "Strategic partner with energy expertise in revenue mobilisation is what the ECG needs to deliver on its core mandate, and not [to sell it]," Where is the minister of energy(nrg)to create a variety of quality improvement initiatives ?
The nrg minister is nowhere...lost, and that means no "ROAD MAP" for his ministry. a good example is, the GNPC N NRG ministry. GNPC as Self-ruling Initiator, overrides the minister NRG totally. GNPC can loan millions of dollars without the consent of the ruling government, and we are all happy about it. Sorry about this few comment, because of incompetency on our government.
In brief,What is in need is integrity. Integrity is the corner stone of good governance. Fostering integrity and preventing corruption in the public sector support a level playing field for businesses and is essential to maintaining trust in government.
A NOTE to NDC:
The “Divestiture,” issue: selling partially or all state own corporations and shifting the burden of economic growth from the government to the private Ghanaian sector and at the same time cutting down government spending and promote private production have its own consequences.

For divestiture there are no easy and quick fixes and the deal is so complex whereby the incur revenue is disproportional to the expected reward. Buyers, investment bankers, and industry and functional specialists need to protect their interest in other to have greater pie. At the end, Ghana stands at a lost.

Selling state own corporations to pay off “national debts” is not the answer.
Privatization does not reduce the stock of our national debt. It gives away the national asset. It also reduces revenue to the state and never increases competition.
The divestiture never enshrines the mandate of the regions to stimulate, advance, and strengthen the small-industrial resource based on Ghanaian economy, or ever provides the best guarantee to discuss relevant issues facing the region.
