Under no circumstances must a vigilante group be allowed to exist in any community. Ghana is not a failed state and there are perfectly legitimate institutions that can be mandated with the tasks of getting children to schools if, indeed the chief's claims are to be believed. The government must go ahead and disband them now before they start metamorphosing into something else. That is not the way to go about bringing order into a community in a democracy and must be condemned in no uncertain terms.

Is the chief a member of "The Boko haram" He should ;lose his power grip over the young people. He must be told on known uncertain terms that his zongo is under the authority of the Ofoasehene thus he owes ofoasehene allegiance.
He must be warned on no uncertain terms can allocate powers to himself without the approval of the people of Ofoase. His zongo precinct is on the lands of the Akims and therefore the zongo chief has no right to impose law on anybody.

We do not want any law that is tied to a religious organization. These people are" mantamdua" that needs to clipped at its infancy

This matter must be handled not only by police but mainly by the ministry of interior.
And the chiefs, are they able to control their own children? These young men wielding the whips, are they really leading accountable lives? They look like fainéants themselves. Let the innocent cast the first stone.
