The issue of Ghanaians having control of their own state enterprises has contributed to the total collapse of the economy since independence, actually to labor the point, Ghanaians are not capable of managing their own affairs.

A case in point is where Ghanaians work lotto at work, turn up to work very late plus absenteeism, lackadaisical attitude to work and on top of all, stealing to get rich quick.

From this CCP youth leader, I don't blame him too much as probably he lives and dream in the past. The world has changed and what Ghana needs is to move away from primary, secondary goods export base to finished one.In doing this we shall be taking advantage of the Global market and grab a substantial share of the Global Market.A look at the electronic market will do Ghana good as such countries like Cambodia, etc.

It's very unfortunate that after Dr. Kwame Nkrumah's government we still blame Ghana's predicament on the past. The problem with Ghana isn't and wasn't because Dr. Nkrumah was overthrown. The problem with Ghana is the Ghanaian. We simply can't manage our own affairs. The same thing apply to most black African countries. Why don't we want to call a spade a spade???
Our approach to work is monumentally abysmal. We drag our feet at work as if we are on metal shoes!!

If our companies and I mean everything has to be controlled by an external organ to be productive, it should be welcomed. The best way to stop the national canker which is corruption is to hand over all these sectors to dignified and ambitious companies. When you steal, you are sacked and imprisoned unlike when it's a badge of honour now.

Kwame Nkrumah was authoritarian, despot, magalamaniac, tyarnt, dictator and totalitarian who imprisoned all political opponents and tortured them to death and even denied them decent burial by the relatives. No freedom and justice under Nkrumah and any one who opposed him had to die in Nsawam Kwame Nkrumah Contration Camp or died in exile.

He was power drunk and made Ghana a one-party state, President for life without a Vice President. Most of the assassination attempts were made by his own CPP members. Nkrumah started all our problems

Go read the original VALCO contract and also about the first IMF bailout requested by Nkrumah. I think the coup helped Nkrumah’s legacy because by 1963 or so the economy started going downhill and Nkrumah asked Ghanaians to tighten their belts.
A lot of the factories were not functioning and many of the state enterprises for example Ghana Airways and Black Star line were operating in the red. The hijacking of the economy by foreigners was from Nkrumah’s time; even then we got foreign aid from the West which we happily accepted. A lot of what Nkrumah said was just rhetoric, behind the scenes he was consulting with Russia, China etc. and even the West.
It is interesting to know that the CPP even has a youth wing -- most of the folks still hanging on to CPP I believe are older folks, 60 plus, so in about 20 years or so I think the party will die a natural death with its oldies. CPP is better off joining NDC if they have any contribution for Ghana, half of their members are already with NDC anyway. Just being real.

During the IMF induced divestiture program in the 80s, first JJ Rawlings was made to devalue the cedi by 45% of its value then to sell almost 300 of Nkrumah's state owned enterprises (SOEs) to mainly foreigners. This was the first IMF conditionality when PNDC invited them into the country. Nkrumah's Jute Factory, GIHOC (Ghana Industrial Holding Corporation), a large conglomerate was split into pieces and sold cheap because of the devalued cedi to foreigners to the exclusion of Ghanaians because of stupid partisan politics The people who benefited most were foreigners - Lebanese, Syrians, Indians, some French and Italians. You will be amazed to see white and yellow faces in Ghana's corporate boardrooms. The sad part of this calamitous crime to the nation is, these foreign nationalities who bought these companies are bringing workers from their home countries to work in these companies whilst our young graduates pound the pavement looking for work. They complain that there are no skill workers in Ghana, and our stupid governments have bought into this egregious lies. That was in the 80s. Fast forward to the millennium.

In 2003, Kufuor sold our priceless and foremost company, Ashanti Golfields, (Ashanti) including the most richest gold deposits in Africa, Obuasi gold mines for a paltry $1.4 billion to Anglogold - a British gold mine company domiciled in South Africa. According to Goldman Sachs, Ashanti was worth at least $3.4 billion at the time of the sale despite the bad hedge. But JA Kufuor and his NPP government gave this marquee company away only to go and have a lavish party at Buckingham Palace with the Queen. In the most atrocious deal ever recorded in our history, JA Kufuor and his NPP government as part of the sale agreement, leased all of Ghana's rich gold mines to Anglogold for 55 years. Which means, Anglogold has the license to dig our gold for 55 years, and only God knows if there would be any gold left when the 55 years are over. Those who have not read the agreement Kufuor's government signed with Anglogold should look for it on the net and you will understand why was invited to Buckingham Palace to wine and dine with the Queen and Sam Jonah was Knighted. How perfidious can the black man be?

Our right and dignity as people taken away and we are become slaves in our own country with a local care taker government fronting like zombie stooge for the internationally exploitative institution.

I did said it here that under these criminally corrupt Mahama led NDC, it will not come as a surprise if we wake up one day to find Ghana in the hands of foreign domination and control.

Great Mugabe, was a million times right. After the great man Osagyefo, Ghana seen no any difference after independence. Ghana under Mahama is like the land of the dead, nothing goes right.

There are many Local Content Regulations supporting Ghanaian enterprise with foreign investors.

CPP must wake up or join the NDC.
It is not sustainable to waste resources of Ghana. Samiah should not be misguided.

Mr.Yeboah's comment that foreigners has hijacked the Ghana's economy is misplaced because to hijack something is to take over without consent.In this case Ghana has invited the foreign companies to help build the economy and I don't see anything wrong with that.Ghanaians have not taken hold of their own destiny to build the country in sincerity.Corruption has taken root in every where,whether in government,privte sector,churches,schools and in our homes.I can assure the CPP that if ECG is given to GENERAL ELECTRIC to operate the electricity grid in Ghana,they will do a good job to the satisfaction of Ghanaians.Corruption will be the thing of the past.America companies by laws of UNITED states of America don't pay bribes to any one in a host nation where they do business.We have to blame our leaders who makes laws to favour foreign companies more than mother Ghana.And because of corruption Ghana has no savings of her own to invest in projects so we have to rely on foreigners to use their own capitals to do our projects,hence they dictate to us the terms of the agreement which benefits them more than us which in fairness we cannot blame them.The real solution is to stop the looting of government coffers and money stashed in bank accounts overseas by past and present officials should be forced to repatriate the money back to Ghana with the help of America and European nations.President Obama,when he visited Ghana he gave us a precious gift when he said that Ghana needs dedicated institutions to do their work.He said that to us because he love to see Ghana prosper and stop begging for help outside.Good institutions has help build America and continue to do so,and if it's good for America then it's also good for Ghana.We should stop blaming foreigners for our own mistakes and take responsibility for our actions.GOD BLESS GHANA.
