He would go on to say that he called Timbillah to find out if that has been done. I find this development very worrisome. As a Minister, you deal with the IGP and not officers below him. What kind of inquiries was Hon woyongo conducting? now that the Minister of Interior has confessed knowing about this scandal since 2014, the BNI or National Security should take over the investigation. It appears there might be a conflict of interest or unnecessary interference in the matter, as what the IGP knew and did, what the Minister knew and did, what Timbillah knew and did.

If this were another country Woyongo would have been forced to resign or be fired. As Minister under whose authority an investigation of a top police offcer is going on, the last he should be doing is make public what his wishes of the outcome of the investigation are. If at the end of the investigation Timbillah is in deed declared innocent, Mr Woyongo would have laid the premise for some people to suggest that the investigators have merely carried his wish. Add to this the fact that Woyongo and Timbilla both hail from the Upper east Region, one from Navrongo the other from Bolga.
