Religious intolerance has been the cause of most conflicts in the world for more than 2000 years, initiated by the three middle eastern religions, judaism, islam and christianity. Unfortunately, Africans have been sucked into this endless war because we have not yet fully documented our history as the basis to resist these oppressive colonizers who all come displaying the bible/koran in one hand while hiding the gun/sword in the other. I have spent years learning various religions, Christianity in particular. None of the verses is calling on Christians to commit violence. But from ancient times till today, people have hiding behind these verses to commit heinous crimes, for political dominance. The Catholic Inquisition, the Spanish Inquisition, the Counter Reformation Persecutions, the Crusades, the Slave Trade, The Lord’s Resistance Army, the Army of God in the USA, the IRA, Pastor Clifford Peeples and his Orange Volunteers, Red Hand Defenders (RHD), the Jonestown Massacre, David Koresh and the Waco Siege, the Anders Breivik Massacre, etc.
Despite the verses in the bible and the actions of these lowlife terrorists, you hardly hear Muslims calling Christians or seeing them as terrorists. But today, some people see Islam as a violent religion, simply because of the heinous crimes they hear in the media committed by some people in the name of “jihad”. And when they meet a Muslim friend, who by the way has lived with them peacefully all his life, and he (the Muslim) tells them that those criminals have got nothing to do with Islam, you see such people arguing, and saying “those terrorists quoted from the Qur’an to support themselves”. Interesting!
According to demographers like the Pew Research Forum, nearly 25% of the world's population is Muslim. If Islam truly teaches violence, why is it that just a small group of people who make less than 1% of the world’s Muslim population commit such violence? Why is it that the close to 2 billion Muslims around the globe doesn’t? Why say that what the extremely tiny minority is doing is rather the true Islam? Throughout history, man has always fought for political power and dominance, usually by hiding behind the name of religion. Every objective person knows this. It is an act of prejudice and shallowness to habour an evil perception against a friend who has lived peacefully with you, just because of his religious belief. Well, this is just food for thought.

The first teaching is straight forward

Muslims burnt down a Christian mission house in Atebubu yet the IGP was again silent and Mahama never saw anything wrong with that. AMA banning churches in classrooms, Northern Regional Minister accusing the Christian clergy of encouraging politicians to be corrupt. These are all plans aimed at suppressing Christianity to please the OIC. These are all indicators that Mahama is feverishly handing over Ghana to the Organisation of Islamic Conference for Money. We should remember Islam is useless without direct state support and so Mahama is providing that support to Muslims to grow in Ghana whilst at the same time suppressing Christians. When I started reading your piece I fell in love with the very words you carefully chose to begin your take with. You simply reminded Christians and non Christians of the very tenets of Christianity-love, tolerance,peace,patience, forgiveness and respect(Philipians 2:3,4). But the very words you used at the end of your submission smacks of hypocrisy and carnal-mindedness.
Most Christians do not really understand what Christianity stand for and this is as result of shallow and superficial reading of the Bible or total neglect of the reading of the Bible. They rather prefer to be at the receiving end all the time instead of reading the Bible themselves. Perhaps they erroneously believe that reading the Bible is the sole preserve or prerogative of their pastors. This is absolutely wrong!
In fact God requires every Christian to test the credibility of every word presented to them as the 'truth': 1Tess.5:21, 1John 4:1, Acts 17:11. Paul commended some Christians in (Acts 17:11) for testing whatever is presented to them by people who present themselves as men of God who quote from the Bible. If serious-minded Christians can do this then they will be protected from accepting or believing every word that emanates from the mouth of people who present themselves as men of God hook, line, and sinker, without subjecting it to scrutiny.
Now what does the Bible say regarding people who wrong us or treat us badly or even injure or wound us? Kindly read Matt.5:38-42,43-48. Doesn't Pastor Agyin Asare have this in his Bible? Doesn't he know that the way he chose to address this issue can rather compound the situation by inciting Christians or provoking them to violent?
please my fellow Christians let us give religious tolerance a chance and respect one another regardless of their religion and ethnicity. God has given is the freedom to choose our religious orientation according to the very dictates of our heart and sea have no right to talk against people who Sir not share the same religious beliefs with us. We should also not lose sight of the undeniable fact that religious extremism or fanatism is not peculiar to Islam alone. There are also people who call themselves Christians who are also religious fanatics or extremists. We can only control these evil people up to some point but we cannot completely do away with evil in this world and I guess their activities are one of the numerous signs of the end time. Have also read about the Roman and Spanish inquisition that was wrought by people who call themselves Christians to their fellow Christians just the latter did not want to see things the way the former saw it or just because the latter decided to see and worship God according to the dictates of their heart or according to the way they understood God and obey Him as they understood the Bible.
I want to conclude by saying that if you want to be a good christian and moslem please get to read the Bible and Qu'ran yourself and ask questions if you find anything weird and strange in your doctrine. Don't choose to be at the receiving end of knowledge but rather read to acquire knowledge yourself and test all things in order to be sure of their authenticity before you believe so that you can doubly be sure you are not being deceived. Is it fair to exempt people who have toiled their whole lives pursuing the cause of a Islam to be exempted from enjoyment in the hereafter because of the colour of their skins? I think some of them have sacrificed a lot by abstaining from wine in order to prepare their throats for the Great Beyond where there are rivers of wine flowing(Sura47:15; 76:5&21; 83:25-29). It is also unfair to deny black African access to the Islamic heaven where there are a lot of Marriages and Sex. (56:10-22,35-38). The lowliest of the inhabitants of the Islamic heaven will have 72 wives- I am wondering how much wives will the district and regional chief Imams will get and how many our good old Sheik Sharubutu will also get. I believe the old man will need a lot of Viagra and a long and robust LANGALANGA to perform his dutie in the Islamic Heaven if he is eventually permitted to enter there. Hmmmmmmm

The fact is that whiles Christians spend their resources and time acquiring knowledge, Muslims spend their money on Mecca, marrying plenty women, producing plenty children, etc. Even at the secondary schools majority of Muslims(95%) go in for the Arts and opt for subjects like Islamic Religious Studies, Dagbani/Hausa, History/Government,etc. Only few Muslims would opt for the Technical/Vocational/Science subjects. You cannot eat your cake and have it.

Again isn't it ironical for there to be hundreds of terror groups using Islam and the Quran as their motivation? In as much as we all need peace, let's tolerate each other in religious issues. Do you know when you are departing the earth and do you know what would happen to you in the next second, minute, hour, day, week, month and or year? If your answers to the quistions above is no then stop tickling yourselves for fighting on Almighty course . For anything that happen on this earth Allah has a reason. Only submmit yourself to Him (God) in a remorseful manner always and intensify your good deeds and prayers whether you are a muslim or christian. But let me ask, if today a maniac with a hidden motive quotes Luke 12:51-53 where Jesus said: “51 Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.” And then the person uses that as the basis to support the evil crimes they are committing under the false pretext of “crusade”, is that person right? Are we being fair to the billion plus peace-loving Christians around the globe if we should say because of the actions of such maniac with a hidden motive who is twisting the meaning of the bible, the peaceful teaching in the bible is not the central theme of Christianity?
Again, today if a maniac quotes Mathew 10:34 where Jesus said “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword” and then use it to support their terrorist activities. Are we being fair to the billion plus peace loving Christians around the globe if we say Jesus taught violence?
Finally, today if we should quote the “Parable of the Ten Minas” in Luke 19:11-27, where a man whom Jesus described as a noble man said “those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me”. Are we being fair to the billion peace-loving Christians around the globe if we say Jesus Christ endorsed barbarism?
I have spent years learning various religions, Christianity in particular. None of the verses is calling on Christians to commit violence. But from ancient times till today, people have hiding behind these verses to commit heinous crimes, for political dominance. The Catholic Inquisition, the Spanish Inquisition, the Counter Reformation Persecutions, the Crusades, the Slave Trade, The Lord’s Resistance Army, the Army of God in the USA, the IRA, Pastor Clifford Peeples and his Orange Volunteers, Red Hand Defenders (RHD), the Jonestown Massacre, David Koresh and the Waco Siege, the Anders Breivik Massacre, etc.
Despite the verses in the bible and the actions of these lowlife terrorists, you hardly hear Muslims calling Christians or seeing them as terrorists. But today, some people see Islam as a violent religion, simply because of the heinous crimes they hear in the media committed by some people in the name of “jihad”. And when they meet a Muslim friend, who by the way has lived with them peacefully all his life, and he (the Muslim) tells them that those criminals have got nothing to do with Islam, you see such people arguing, and saying “those terrorists quoted from the Qur’an to support themselves”. Interesting!
According to demographers like the Pew Research Forum, nearly 25% of the world's population is Muslim. If Islam truly teaches violence, why is it that just a small group of people who make less than 1% of the world’s Muslim population commit such violence? Why is it that the close to 2 billion Muslims around the globe doesn’t? Why say that what the extremely tiny minority is doing is rather the true Islam? Throughout history, man has always fought for political power and dominance, usually by hiding behind the name of religion. Every objective person knows this. It is an act of prejudice and shallowness to habour an evil perception against a friend who has lived peacefully with you, just because of his religious belief. Well, this is just food for thought.Stereotype kills and it is very dangerous. I sometimes get sad when people I believe to know better misinform their follows. It is so so amazing
