You are too lenient, just three years? The parents should lose custody of this child and should be sent to prison for at least ten years.

If this story about being chained to a three for seven days without food and water in a bush and surviving is a miracle .

A real parent will rather give the last food in the house to their children and go without but for a parent to do this just because your child has eaten your food is beyond believe.

Ten years in prison should be the minimum these fools should get.

These stories are quite hurtful. In as much as I do support the parents being punished, the alternative with the social welfare for the girl is likely to be much worse. Ghana have no social system or any form of foster parent system for kids such as these. I would advocate some strict conditions for the parents and constant supervision by the Department of social welfare on how the parents treat their child. I would also entreat the parents be made to attend parenting classes. Leaders in the community or church leaders could be brought in to help with monitoring and provide some support to the parents. It hurts to read these but poverty is the issue.

I will suggest psychological assessment of both parents and the child victim first and take it from there. But of course the victim can be placed under child care order and start psychological intervention support.Evil has come home l may say. Critical times indeed
