It is the trend in P/NDC party to impose leaders on its members without passing through the proper channel, and then impose them on Ghanaians through massive electoral malpractices and outright poll-rigging. Why can't the party also open its leadership contests to all its members freely and democratically to allow natural leaders emerge democratically without the usual dubious tricks in the party?

I blame the NDC stomach politicians for failing to stand up for democracy and demand that the long standing undemocratic culture in their party be changed, when Mr. Martin Amidu raised the alarm three years ago. That was when Mr. Mahama secretly and hurriedly declared himself flag bearer of the party immediately after the death of President Mills to eliminate potential competitors. Soon after, he organized big parties at stadiums for sycophant members of the party to rubber-stamp his decision fraudulently.

The NDC ticks themselves into believing they are "Democratic" when in actual fact it is a cult run by a few cabals who do everything in their sycophantic power to discourage, thwart, and if all fails, intimidate to foreclose any leadership challenge. When Akokufunu Anyidoho says " Know thyself before contesting Mahama ", he is signalling that who ever dares to challenge Mahama, they, the paid party hoodlums, will do to such a person, the same treatment they meted out to Nana Konadu Agyeman when she contested Atta Mess for the party ticket in the days leading up to the 2012 elections. If they are so confident in Mahama's leadership credentials why are they throwing about "tear gases" and scare tactics at imaginary potential challengers?

NDC is not a proper party in the true sense of the word, just some apolitical construct that uses opprobrium on all those who challenge them, internally and externally. We only have to see what they did to Nana Yaa Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings to understand what thuggish Akokufunu Anyidoho means by "Know thyself before contesting Mahama". Who goes into political contests not knowing who they are. What Anyidoho is saying is like this: 'Know who we are as a party, before challenging Mahama. We will bastardize and tear you up'. Tweaaa, and you call this a party? Anokwampo!

What Koku Anyidoho is doing is undemocratic,this is not his job,he should rather be talking about the the mess being created in the Volta region by the executives of the party demanding more money from aspirants in addition to what they are paying at the national level making the incumbent MPs to pay halve of what other aspirants are paying which amounts to extortion,he should be talking to the likes of Allotey Jacobs who said he will prevent people from contesting one term MPs.
These are things that should be his priority,it is not his job to decide for people what position they should contest.

As a party executive he should be the last to be making such comments publicly,it is about time our executives knew what is democracy,democracy doesn't mean only winning election,you don't have to open your mouth to talk about everything.
