  Playing for the Black Stars is not a right of passage for local players. It's purely dependent on the quality and current form of the player. Remember most of the Black Star players once played in the local league. Most of them elevated their performances to another level when they moved outside the country and rubbed shoulders with top class players in foreign countries. That's what qualified them to be invited to join the Black Stars. Our local players cannot even a game in any African competition but some people are still clamouring for their inclusion into the national team just to satisfy the ego. These are the people in high places who used to push their own local substandard players into the national team for monetary gains at the expense of qualified Ghanaian players who happen to play abroad. They have seen their influence greatly reduced, with the hiring of Grant as the national coach. They are clamouring for a local coach who they can bribe to push their agenda.

HE AUTOMATICALLY THINKS THE PLAYER IS NOT READY.
  GRANT DOES NOT TIME TO TUTOR PLAYERS TO BE PROFESSIONAL. HE IS LOOKING FOR READY MADE PROFESSIONAL PLAYERS TO MAKE HIS LIFE EASY FOR HIM AS A COACH. GRANT WONT GO FOR NO LOCAL COACHES UNTIL THEY HAVE PROVEN THEMSELVES IN A REPUTABLE, POPULAR FOREIGN LG. THATS HIS MENTALITY.

Some of these players are too smallish, their level is Black Meteors/ Satelites. And they are not going to grow any bigger. You are deceiving yourself and seceiving the players.

  You hit the nail right on the head. Most of our players lack the size and bulk to play in any tough league. That's why Ghanaian players can't handle the physical demands of the EPL. Unless you are a dribbling wizard like Messi, it will be hard to compete physically. There's no place in the Black Stars for players who can't even beat their own shadows in any African competition. Brazil has most local players in their national team because their league is on of the most efficient ones in the world and can find the national talents locally. Who can say the same about Ghana league?
