  Yes. EC itself is a not for profit institution and their expenses are covered by taxpayers and donations. They have no business in setting filing fees very high. They cannot profit from filing fees of candidates. Let CPP chal ...

  *MY TAKE ON THE FILING FEE*
  It's a sad day for me in Ghana to wake up to see an increment of 1000% in filing fees for parliamentary candidates.
  What is the purpose for this increment?
  Couldn't it have been increased if so by a 100?
  Is political position now for only the few rich who can afford and what then happens to the public purse after a candidate wins?
  
  I believe this is an outrageous amount only to disenfranchise competent but financially challenge persons to contest leaving the competition closed to those who can afford.
  
  Any person who wins would want to recoup what he lost during the elections at the mercy of the electorates.
  
  The EC must reconsider this decision so Ghanaians would have a wider option to choose who they want to represent them in parliament.
