I saw this coming long ago. Why do you think ndc failed to provide jobs, killed jobs through dumsor, raised taxes and stole every penny from the National vault? By 2020 if (God forbid) they're still ruling only the ndc would afford the filing fee - one party state. By then if you don't sing 'edey be ', you would not breath, let alone drink koko.

The ruling that a writ once filed in the sc amounts to an estoppel will come to haunt us all.Bad decisions of the sc will be the cause of our troubles in Ghana not the people.

It's an excellent suit that needs clarity as to how the fees are arrived at, when it should be communicated to the various political parties ie is it 2 years before the elections, one month before, 4 years before, etc, etc and must be codified into law.
And this needs to be determined by the Supreme Court given the whimsical, capricious and arbitrary manner in which the issue of fees has been arrived at and applied.
At this moment it is a convoluted system and subject to abuse especially when you have an EC deemed to be working in cahoots with a failed President who continually threatens the EC Chair with the mantra of "I deserve a second term", when the masses are very clear in their conviction he is not fit to lead the country and should step aside.
It can be employed in an unseemly manner to impose a failed President with unbridled access to the national purse through looting, by the EC on the masses.
We have witnessed a situation where a political party the NDP in 2012, had it's hopes of contesting the elections dashed through unorthodox means involving the then EC working in cahoots with the Mahama NDC gov't. This clearly is another dimension, another approach again by the EC working in cahoots with Mahama to subvert the will of the masses through the imposition of a culture of outrageousness.
It is subversion of our democracy and the will of the people through monetized capriciousness and whimsicality involving a failed President and a compromised Electoral Commission.

What is being contested? 1) the EC has no authority to charge filing fees OR 2) the fees are too high? Very interesting.

This guy is fighting a losing battle, the court cannot decide how much EC can charge for nomination,EC does not take instructions from a court to do its administrative work, the fees should have been high than that to deter every idiot from forming a political party, just dismiss that lawsuit, ASAP.
Hassan Ayariga is right, the so called adwumawura is in trouble.

In fact there is no proper logic for these high filling fees. Isn't the electoral commission's budget paid for by the tax payer? So what will they do with such huge amounts. If the amount is to serve as a deterrent, then that is why EC got is woefully wrong. Bcos we will end up promoting money politics. By the way has EC been able to implement the political party funding program? Yet imposes such huge burden on political parties.
