  What laws? The base interest rate for Ghana is 25%. That is money being lent between banks. That is what he must address first before he start talking rubbish. It goes to show that we have fools trying to rule us talking big ...

It goes to show that we have fools trying to rule us talking big for votes. As my name said, build social housing and then you can rent it out for free. Have you tried collecting rent in Ghana before? It’s like pulling the hair from what I would not like to mention. We have rent control full of shit who don’t know what their role is and are also for rent to the highest bidder.

  Ivor Kobina Greenstreet was cocksure that his government would strictly ensure that no landlord takes more than three months’ rent advance.
  
  The Rent Control Act 1963, Act 220 under Section 255 states that no landlord has the right to take rent advance for more than three months and six months for residential and commercial areas. However, subsequent governments have woefully failed to implement the provision.
  
  The Rent Control Act 1963, Act 220 under Section 255 should be reviewed to liberalize the private house rental market to encourage private landlords to fill the gap in the rental market.

  This Greenstreet guy is also showing the symptoms of that socialist disease of controlled prices. If the supply of rentable accommodation is available everywhere in Accra, you do not need a presidential fiat to determine how many months somebody should pay rent advanace. Who controls the price of pure water in Accra? Nobody, but the price is stable because supply exceeds demand. Mr Greenstreet please become a president and build 10 million rental units and you can then make it a policy to give it to Ghanaian even for free. These are the free talkers who do not know anything but want to become president of Ghana. May God help all of us.
