The NDC national campaign coordinator, Mr. Adamu Kotokoli, could partially be blamed for the humiliating defeat of the party, in which "the NPP trashed the ruling party by about one million votes and also won majority of the parliamentary seats", as a result of the incompetence of Mr. Kotokoli and the incompetence and corruption of Mr. Mahama himself and that of all the "babies with sharp teeth' he appointed.

However, the real reason for the party's "painful defeat" is their undemocratic ways that have largely been exposed by the NPP party, and was able to block most of the channels NDC had been using to rig the elections. The world has changed so much and NDC must also change with it, and not continue to rely on rigged elections to rule Ghanaians

NPP are happy celebrating and boasting of their victory only because the NDC has refused to hold the country to ransom as Nana Addo did in 2008 and 2012 by refusing to concede defeat. The behavior of John Mahama has given NPP a clear idea of what patriotism is all about, not in name but in practice. Ken Agyapong and NPP should know that there would be more elections in future and they should learn from Mahama to be good losers. There would be always tomorrow. During the campaign, the NPP asked Mahama to emmulate Yaya Jameh of Gambia, are they still standing by their word? The real Mahama is the one now in Gambia pleading and convincing Jameh to emulate his good example and concede. Shame unto NPP for speaking too early.
