Chase out those small scale miners with excavators(wontumi and co.)!They are the ones mining in water bodies and doing surface mining.Give small-scale concessions to committees to sink shafts(wells),to mine only underground rocks containing gold and make sure these pits are filled up after mining.Force the big mining companies to recycle their poisonous chemicals(cyanide)and stop dumping them into their abandoned pits because these chemicals mix up with underground water and later on with the streams and borehole drinking water.This causes cancer ,blindness etc.For example kwabrafo is a stream in obuasi ,fully contaminated because the gold giant Ashanti gold pours out its waste into it but nobody says anything!! I am into mining myself but a concerned citizen.Give the Galamseyers an alternative in the pits otherwise it's going to be a wildg.chase in the bush,waste of finance,state resources and we will be pouring out criminals from the bush onto the streets.It's a new govt,don't get trapped with banning and chasing all galamseyers,it will drain your resources , concentrate on banning the excavators,they are easy to find.
