  Those who gave permits must be sanctioned, be they chiefs or ministers of state. Not until that is done people will connive with murderers and turn blind away blind eyes.

  Any chief who encouraged galamsey must be destooled for destroying property nananom left for posterity.
  Any minister or official of state found to have colluded with galamsey operators must be thrown in jail or executed for causing irreparable harm to all those who died or are suffering ill health.
  It is time to demand accountability.

  MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT MUST MAKE A 'HOLY PILGRIMAGE' TO RIVERS AND WATER BODIES ETC DESTROYED BY GALAMSEY EVERY MONTH. IF THEY DO THIS, I ASSURE YOU THEY WILL BE FORCED TO THINK FAR AND REDO THE MINING LAWS. JUST SIGNING IS NOT ENOUGH. THERE MUST BE REGULAR PRACTICAL DEMONSTRATIONS OF THEIR FIDELITY TO THE CAUSE OF SAVING OUR ENVIRONMENT. OR BETTER STILL, EACH REGIONAL CAUCUS SHOULD ADOPT ONE OF THE ENDANGERED RIVERS AND FIGHT TO RESTORE IT TO ITS PRISTINE STATE WHERE WE CAN SEE OUR FACES IN THE WATER AND SEE FISH FREELY SWIMMING IN THE WATERS,LIKE IT USED TO BE OF OLD.

  Fake leaders. This wiill not help the country at all. Galamsey still exist and whether legal or illegal it is destroying our land. Our leaders are selfish, corrupt, etc.

  Iam a public servant in galamsey area and does not support how our water bodies are being destroyed but but the angle that the government has started is TOTALLY WRONG.It should have started from from the stakeholders meeting ...

  Iam a public servant in galamsey area and does not support how our water bodies are being destroyed but but the angle that the government has started is TOTALLY WRONG.It should have started from from the stakeholders meeting at the District Assembly level. Now all the MPs are in Accra and armed robbery will be in the districts and it won't affect them. Now the galamsey operators are moving their machines from the sites which is good but the dangers are that they have left 'MANHOLES' uncovered. Which MP will go and fall into those pits? It is the poor community people.
  The MPs signed memorandum without thinking FAR, it's only to follow the crowd. Some MPs are there to just fill the vacansies and cannot think for themselves.The police in these galamsey areas are part of these problems thinking about their pockets first. You plan with them and they go and release information to the galamsey operators.
  
  I would advice the minister to think TWICE and start from the District level
