Our conflict resolution measures putting in place is always weak, if it is about ourselves. We work more professional for the white man and foreigners than for our selves.

I suggest from now on, our government security agencies should set up a time line for meetings between leaders of parties or groups in conflict in the country to examine the actual stand of any grievances. Funds for intercultural activities should be made available for the tribes to work together in different aspect. The leaders should sign bonds that they will not directly or indirectly involve themselves in any conflict and that case of that nature would be reported to the police or any other government security apparatus. Besides, there should be a sensitization programmes among the conflict communities with enough informations.

Curfew alone will not help.

This fight is becoming like the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. When a young man from the Alavanyo side was allegedly killed a few months ago by the Nkonyas, I knew there would definitely be a retaliatory attack on them by the Alavanyos.

What has happened to the government announcement about a year ago that it was taking over the disputed land for a military base? The only solution to end this conflict would be a quick action by the government to develop the disputed land as proposed.

The RSC cannot continue imposing curfew for life. It should advise the government to hit the ground with heavy equipment and start the project as soon as possible. Once this piece of land is gone, the fighting too will end.

I'm glad people are waking up now. We must make changes in our culture as population grows, changes will bring progress. We can't continue to do things the same way we used to do centuries ago when the population was about 2 million and were divided into many tribes with each tribe under a chief with different rules etc. Today we are a country competing for economic survival with other countries like China-1.5 billion, India-1 billion, etc. We need to find better ways to manage our lands and its resources. We need to remove the wedges(kings) that divide us. We also need to abolish expensive funerals which affect economic activities. We have to ban all those practices based on lies without any proof(just to make money from ignorant majority) fetish priest, one man churches like Obinim and others etc. We need to shake off the tag(3rd world)
