Edwin Gyimah reaffirms confidence in Black Stars
Ghana international Edwin Gyimah believes the Black Stars possess the quality to surmount the difficult task of leapfrogging Egypt in the Group E of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Gyimah, who has represented his country ten times, is confident Ghana can still qualify for the World Cup despite their sluggish start to the qualifying campaign.
Egypt currently tops the group with six points, two points above second-placed Uganda, while Ghana sits third with only one point and Congo languish at the bottom of the group with zero points.
“I am backing, of course, the Black Stars because the team is full of quality and we can still pull it off,” Gyimah said.
“I am going to be praying for them so that we get the luck we need to compliment our efforts,” he added.
Ghana’s next two matches in the World Cup qualifiers will be against Congo on the 28th of August at home, then September 2 in Brazzaville.
The Black Stars will face Congo in consecutive games on September 1 and 5 and will travel to Kampala to face Uganda on the 7th of October, and finally, host Egypt on the 11th of November.
