Jordan Ayew happy to play alongside brother in Brazil

Black Stars and Sochaux striker Jordan Ayew has spoken about his excitement at playing in his first World Cup in Brazil.

The 22-year-old was still on the periphery of the senior Marseille set-up four years ago when he watched the Black Stars, including his brother Andre, at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

With some days to the 20th edition of the event, the young Sochaux striker has expressed joy at the prospects of being on the field alongside his brother in Brazil.

“It’s a good feeling to be in the Ghana team with my brother because I haven’t played a big tournament like the World Cup before,” Jordan told FIFA.com.

"In 2010, I watched him at home. Now I am here with him in the same team.”

Having bagged four goals in his last seven matches on loan at Sochaux this recent past season after a frustrating time at the Stade Velodrome, Jordan also spoke about the reason behind his recent renaissance, alluding to the 2014 World Cup as a huge morale booster.

"I had a good season with them and it was my target to play at the World Cup and everything went well. The playing time and the confidence of the coach made my season that successful,” he added.

Ghana opens her campaign in Natal against familiar rivals the USA on June 16 before facing Germany and Portugal in her last two Group G matches.
