A former chief executive officer of Asante Kotoko, Javis Peprah, is optimistic the defending league champions can win the ongoing Ghana Premier League in spite of the poor run of results the Porcupine Warriors have recorded this season.
The Kumasi-based club have struggled since the commencement of the season which led to the dismissal of coach Didi Dramani and the subsequent appointment of David Duncan as coach.
The appointment of Duncan has, however, not yielded positive results yet as the club still struggle to impress in the league raising doubts over the club’s ability to retain the title they won last season.
Speaking to Ultimate FM’s Benjamin Yamoah, Peprah indicated that Asante Kotoko can win this year’s league as the gap between the first place team Ashantigold and Kotoko who are on the 11th position is only 11 points.
“We can still win the league because when I looked at the league table this morning and the points difference between Kotoko and the teams above and seriously with 13 matches to end the league, all we need is to win three matches and we will be up there challenging for the league trophy,” Peprah noted.
“It is highly possible for Asante Kotoko to recover and win this season’s league title,” Peprah added.
